At sixteen, Mom took me to a restaurant about five miles from my home in western Pennsylvania. While having dinner, the live music in the next room made my heart soar. Something inside of me was always moved whenever I heard the standards. "This was the kind on music I wanted to write." I couldn't wait to meet the guys who were making those wonderful sounds. The piano player was Art DeSimone, and we would share the love of the classics and our friendship forever. So, Art ... this is my gift to you. I jumped at the opportunity to round up the top players in town to help present these songs. In the collaboration that followed, Tony and Jim were my guides as we worked out arrangements that were natural and smooth and danced around my voice. Mark, at the board, added his treasured input. What fun we had the feeling and style of the 30's. This music transcends time for me ... and I hope for you as well.
